Retiring assignments allows the administrator the flexibility to archive assignment criteria for retired activities or create a new assignment without the old assignment data being deleted.
Need to Know
- Retiring assignments will allow you to archive assignment information and run reports on old assignments
- If you are retiring an activity (course or curriculum), archiving the assignment allows the assignment information to remain intact
- Administrators can retire assignments without having to retire the activity if the criteria for the activity changes (e.g. no longer needs to be assigned).
- Archiving an assignment happens at the Management > Audience level within your activity.
- If you do not have an audience assigned to the management audience area, you cannot archive assignments
Archiving an Assignment
Step 1: Navigate to Administration > Quick Links > Learning Activities.
Step 2: Search for Learning Activity > Select Edit once activity is located.
Step 3: Click on Send to Stage.
Step 4: Scroll down to the bottom of the activity to locate the Management > Audience area.
If there is not a management audience section the general properties page, navigate to Optional > Management > Audience.
Step 5: Check the box next to the audience you would like to archive and click Edit.
Step 6: Locate the assignment properties and Archival Date column.
Step 7: Place a date for when the assignment should archive (can be today’s date or a date in the future).
Step 8: Select OK.
Step 9: Click on Validate for Production.
Step 10: Click on Move to Production.
