My Filters and Shared Filters
This article will cover how to create your own filter and access filters created by your campus.
Filters are a great way to narrow down search results for content that is relevant and applicable. CSU Learn allows you to create your own filters (My Filter) or recommended filters by your campus training administrator (Shared Filters).
Accessing Filters
There are two ways users can access their filters on the Search Results for Learning page:
Enterprise Search
When you enter a keyword (under search type "Learning", and click Enter, the search results page will display along with filters.
Filters shortcut on the Control Panel
With this direct link to the page, the most recently configured Shareable Filter is selected by default.
Once you are on the search results page you can create your own filters (My Filters) or access campus created filters (Shared Filters).
My Filters
My Filters are customized search results you create to make it easier to find content. Once you arrive on the search results page you will see Filter options on the left-hand side.
If you did not perform a search, you’ll need to search in the top right enterprise search BEFORE enabling filters (and saving them).
Step 1: Search for a topic
Step 2: Create a name for the Filter
Step 3: Add necessary filters to narrow down your search
Step 4: Click Save Search to save your search results and filters
Step 5: Your filter will appear under My Saved Filters to be accessed later.
Step 6: If you do not need your filter anymore, simply click the trash can icon to delete your saved filter.
Shared Filters
Shared Filters are curated search results your campus training administrator has created to assist you in finding content. To access the shared filters:
Step 1: Click the Filters shortcut on the left-hand control panel (or search for a topic in the enterprise search)
Step 2: Click on the Shared Filters tab (if there are not any shared filters on your campus, this area will be blank)
Step 3: Click on the button next to the shared filter to have the customized search results (and content) appear.
This concludes how to access the Filters area, My Filters and Shareable Filters.
