How to Validate Training Assignments for a Learner (as an Administrator)

Updated on

The following article will outline the steps an administrator can take to validate training assignments for users within CSU Learn.

Need to Know

  • You will need to have administrator security rights with “can view domain” users checked to see all users on your campus
  • The best practice to validate training assignments by user is to use the Training Analysis area.
  • Searching for learners by name, e-mail or CalStateEduPersonID (CEPID) is the best practice to ensure accurate results. You will not be able to search for learners by their campus employee / student ID.
  • Login to CSU Learn
  • Click on Administration > Quick Links > All Users

1. Search for the User (by name, e-mail or CalStateEduPersonID). Click Enter or magnify glass to initiate your search

2. A list of results will appear in the search box.

3. Click on the row where your learner’s name appears

4. Once clicked a slide out will appear on the right-hand side. Click the learner’s name hyperlinked in blue text

5. On the left-hand side menu bar, expand the “Learning” Section

6. Navigate to “Training Analysis”

7. The Training analysis area will show all required and recommended training that has been assigned to a learner.

If a link was distributed without assignment, then the training will not appear in this section (and a report would need to be run).

Review the due date, last completed date, expiration data and assignment status to confirm the status of any assignment for your learners.
