How to Search the Library

This article goes over how to search the Library in the Training Portal to find courses, books, videos and other development opportunities.

Please note most compliance related courseware is hidden from search. Your campus training administrator will notify you either through e-mail or a CSU Learn notification on how to access required trainings. You can always visit the Assigned Learning Tile on the homepage to see all your assigned trainings based on your role on campus.

Step 1: Log in to the training platform (please go to the How to Login Article for more information). 

Training Protal Dashboard is displayed.

Step 2: From the dashboard, click on the Library icon.

Step 3: The page will refresh and you will be taken to the Library.

The Library page will display. This page will provide all courses that are in the training portal.

Step 4: You can expand the Library Topics to find content that is available.

The Library Topics tab can be expanded to view the entire list. There is a green box showing the location the Libary Topics Tab.

Step 5: You can also apply Filters to find the content.

There are books, audio books, live courses, boot camps, and in-person classes that are available.

Step 6: Under Full Library, you can use the Search box to find a course by its keywords.

Step 7: Once you find the activity, you can click on the title.

Search through the results and click on the title of the course. There is a green box showing the location of the course.

Step 8: Click on the Start or Start Course button to launch the activity.

Save Content for Later (Favorites)

Step 1: Refer to Steps 1 - 7 in Searching the Library for instructions on how to find an activity.

Step 2: Below the activity name, you will see a heart icon.

Step 3: You can click on the heart icon to favorite the activity.

Step 4: To find the activities that you marked as favorite, click on the Home icon.

Step 5: Click on the Recently Viewed tile.

Step 6: You will see Recently Launched and Favorites.

Step 7: You will see activities that you marked as favorite under the Favorites section.

A list of favorited activities will display.

Step 8: You can also click on View all to see all activities.

Sharing Content

Step 1: Refer to Steps 1 - 7 in Searching the Library for instructions on how to find an activity.

Step 2: Below the activity name, you will see a share icon.

Step 3: You can click on the share icon to view the URL.

Step 4: The Share Activity window will display the URL.

Share Activity window is displayed. This is a direct link to the activity details page for this learning activity. Use this link to share this activity with other users. Only active accounts have permission to view the activity within the system.

Step 5: Click on Copy Link to copy the URL.

This URL can only be shared with employees at your campus. This can help with minimizing searching.
